Performance Analysis of 66/11 KV Substation Using Petri nets and Vague Lambda Tau Methodology

 Abstract
In this paper, a new methodology named as vague lambda-tau, is proposed for reliability analysis of the repairable systems. In this methodology, vague set theory is coupled with conventional lambda-tau method to evaluate the vague expressions for OR/AND-transition of Petri nets model. This paper involves the qualitative analysis of 66/11 KV substation system. In qualitative analysis, Petri net model is obtained from its equivalent fault tree and in quantitative analysis, reliability parameters are evaluated using vague lambda-tau methodology.By using this approach, system reliability can be analyzed in a more flexible and more intelligent manner.

ON PARANORMED TYPE FUZZY I –CONVERGENT DOUBLE MULTIPLIER SEQUENCES

Abstract 
In this article we introduce the classes of fuzzy real valued double sequences   and ,where  is a multiplier sequence of non-zero real numbers and  p = is a double sequence of bounded strictly positive numbers. We study different topological properties of these classes of sequences. Also we characterize the multiplier problem and obtain some inclusion relation involving these classes of sequences.

Adaptive multi-step Differential Transformation Method to Solve ODE Systems

ABSTRACT
In this paper, it is given a fast algorithm to solve chaotic differential systems using the multi-step differential transform method(MsDTM). The approach is applied to a number of chaotic nonlinear differential equations and numerical results are given. Performance analyses reveal that the proposed approach is an efficiency tool to solve using fewer time step to the considered equation systems.

Lacunary Strong A -Convergence Sequence Spaces Defined By A Sequence of Moduli

Abstract
The definition of lacunary strong A-convergence to a modulus is extended to a definition of lacunary strong A -convergence with respect to a sequence of moduli. We study some connections between lacunary strong A -convergence with respect to a sequence of moduli and lacunary A -statistical convergence, where A is a sequence of matrices  of complex numbers.AMS Subject Classification: 40D05, 40A05.

SOME RESULTS ON LAPLACE-STIELTJES TRANSFORM

ABSTRACT
Two general theorems on Laplace-Stieltjes transform are established. One theorem is
a generalized convolution theorem, while the second is a generalized Parseval theorem for
a operator with kernel k(s, t). Several special cases can be derived from these theorems.
One section is devoted to applications of these theorems to evaluate some integrals.

NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF CHAOTIC GENESIO SYSEM WITH MULTI-STEP LAPLACE ADOMAIN DECOMPOSITION METHOD

ABSTRACT
In this paper, a novel method for approximate analytic series solution calledMultistep Laplace Adomian Decomposition Method (MLADM) has been proposed for solving the chaotic Genesio system (CGS). The proposed method is a modification of the classical Laplace Adomian Decomposition Method (LADM) with multi-step approach. Fourth-order Runge-Kutta method (RK4) is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Comparison of the results with RK4 confirms that MLADM performs very high accuracy.Results show that MLADM is a very promising method for obtaining approximate solutions to CGS. Moreover, it can be readily employed to solve other chaotic systems.

Mineralogical characteristics of surface sediment along Sulaibikhat Bay, Kuwait

 ABSTRACT
Surface sediment samples were collected from 35 locations in Sulaibikhat Bay, Kuwait. Grain sizes, total organic carbon (TOC), carbonate and mineralogical data were determined. The geographical distribution, and their relationships with each other are described. Grain-size analysis showed a high positive correlation between clay minerals and organic matter (measured as TOC), but a high negative correlation between clay minerals and carbonate content (measured as CaCO3). Grain-size analysis also showed that the southeastern part of the Bay, which contains muddy sediments with a predominant silt fraction, also has the highest clay content. The calcium carbonate in the sediments, particularly in the western part of the Bay, is composed of sand-sized biogenic calcareous fragments of aragonite. There appears to be a positive relationship between coarse-grained sediments and the biogenic content of bottom sediments in the Bay. This study shows that there is an abundance of carbonate, clay minerals, feldspar, pyrite, gypsum and muscovite in different particular parts of the Bay. An abundance of pyrite close to the Ghazali outfall with low oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) values (48.0–188 mV) may be associated with the presence of hydrogen sulphide and pyrite in the sediments and suggest the possibility that reducing conditions prevail because of sulphate reduction associated with the decomposition of organic matter. The high correlation of pyrite with TOC supports the view that the presence of pyrite is an indicator of the presence of sewage waste under anaerobic conditions.

ABSTRACT
In the present paper we use generalized differential transform method to derive analytical solution of linear and non-linear space-time fractional reaction-diffusion equations on a finite domain. The space and time fractional derivatives are considered in Caputo sense. Some examples are given and it has been observed that the generalized differential transform method is very effective and convenient and overcomes the difficulty of Adomian decomposition method and homotopy perturbation method.

Exact Solutions for the Wick-type Stochastic Time-Fractional KdV Equations

Abstract.
Our aim in this paper is to explore white noise functional solutions for the variable coefficients Wick-type stochastic time-fractional KdV equations. Using the modified fractional sub-equation method we can find out new exact solutions for the time-fractional KdV equations. Subsequently, the Hermite transform and the inverse Hermite transform are employed to find white noise functional solutions for the variable coefficients Wick-type stochastic time-fractional KdV equations.

Einstein like -para Sasakian manifolds

ABSTRACT

Einstein like   -para Sasakian manifolds are introduced. For an   -para Sasakian manifold to be Einstein like, a necessary and sufficient condition in terms of its curvature tensor is obtained. The scalar curvature of an Einstein like   -para Sasakian manifold is obtained and it is shown that the scalar curvature in this case must satisfy certain differential equation. A necessary and sufficient condition for an   -almost paracontact metric hypersurface of an indefinite locally Riemannian product manifold to be   -para Sasakian is obtained and it is proved that the   -para Sasakian hypersurface of an indefinite locally Riemannian product manifold of almost constant curvature is always Einstein like.

Scheduling Stochastic Jobs on a Single Machine to Minimize Weighted Number of Tardy Jobs

ABSTRACT
An important scheduling problem in manufacturing and service organizations is the on-time deliveries of products and services. This paper addresses a single machine scheduling problem wherein processing times or due-dates are random variables and fixed weights (penalties) are imposed on late jobs. The objective is to derive the schedule that minimizes the expected weighted number of tardy jobs. The problem is NP-hard; however, we prove that, under some agreeable conditions, special cases of various problem scenarios are solvable optimally in polynomial time. We also introduce heuristic methods for the general cases of these scenarios. Our computational results demonstrate that the heuristics perform well in providing either the optimal sequence or a near optimal solution. The illustrative examples and computational results also show that the stochasticity of processing times or due-dates can affect scheduling decisions. In addition, special cases of the problem reduce to some new stochastic and some existing single machine models.

Assessment of Genetic Diversity Haloxylon salicornicum Genotypes, a native plant of Kuwait

ABSTRACT
Haloxylon salicornicum  is one of the most important native desert flora distributed in Kuwait. Despite its ecological and economical importance, H. salicornicum is suffering from severe loss. Unless great attention is paid towards its protection and documentation, it face danger of extinction. Due to lack of information on the genetic diversity of H. salicornicum this study attempted to analyse samples collected from nine representative locations from the Kuwait desert. Diversity analysis was performed suing RAPD and ISSR technique. Twenty five RAPD and 24 ISSR primers produced 946 and 1016 bands respectively. RAPD produced a relatively higher proportion of polymorphic bands (49.4%) compared to ISSR (47%). However, Mantel test shows a very good degree of fit (r =0.96) between RAPDs and ISSRs data. Thus, the data of both marker systems were combined to produce  single dendrogram. This showed that samples collected from regions 4, 5, 7, 8A, and 8B,  are the most related (PDV=  0.13- 0.15), whereas those collected from regions 2 and 6 are the most genetically similar (PDV =0.28- 0.25) respectively.

Geomorphological characteristics of the Um-Rimam depression in northern Kuwait

ABSTRACT
Um-Rimam depression is one of the largest depressions in Kuwait. It is about 16.5 km2 and located in northern
Kuwait. It consists of a northern and southern playa whose floors cover 0.39 and 0.72 km2 at 50 m and 60 m
above sea level, respectively. The two playas are separated by a narrow zone (250 m in width) called the neck
area. The depression is developed on alluvial sediments classified under Kuwait Group (Oligo-Pleistocene). The
main geomorphological features of the study area are  wadis, playas and yardangs. 73 wadis (11 major and 62
minor wadis) were observed in the field with sporadic orientations. The depression is a mere erosional
feature, because no indications of a tectonic origin have been found in the study area. The depression has a
variety of surface sediments such as pebbly sheets, active sand sheets, wadi fill deposits, alluvial fans,
falling dunes, and nabkha deposits around shrub (Haloxylon salicornicum and Lycium shawii). The surface
sediments in the Um-Rimam depression are sandy, poorly sorted, positively skewed and very platykurtic. The
amount of aeolian deposits (sand and dust) is low in the study area compared to the average deposited aeolian
particles in surrounding areas within Kuwait, but the annual amount of sand trapped in the northern playa (31
kg.yr-1) is higher than the southern playa. The proposed artificial lakes in the depression might be good for
improving the vegetation cover and wildlife, but an environmental impact assessment study should be prepared.

SOLUTION OF NONLINEAR q-SCHRÖDINGER EQUATION BY TWO DIMENSIONAL q-DIFFERENTIAL TRANSFORM METHOD

ABSTRACT
In the present paper, we first derive q-analogue of nonlinear Schrödinger equation from its discrete version and then solve it by two-dimensional q-differential transform method. The solution is obtained in the form of a series and in the case  , reduces to the exact solution of a nonlinear Schrödinger equation studied by Borhanifa and Abazari. We also draw some graphs of solution for different values of the parameter q using the software Mathematica.
