The End of Political Science?

Auther : Abdulkhaleq Abdulla

Political science has recently been subjected to a comprehensive and critical review, which has revealed some unexpected findings. Although political science has experienced enormous growth throughout the world, the discipline has also fostered a great deal of fragmentation, disorientation and even disintegration. many scholars have recognized that political science is coming to a tragic end. The end of political science is not a possibility, but a growing actuality. The proliferation of so many conflicting schools, approaches, trends, subtrends, fields, and subfields, which have little in common, is one factor. Each of the major fields, international relations. Comparative politics, and political theory is seeking autonomy from the mother discipline. In addition, political science has come to the point that it is lacking in substance, i.e. it has neither politics nor science in it. This raises the ultimate question: what is left of political science?
