The Impact of Some Demographic Variables on the Social Status of careers: Field Study

This study aims at identifying the social status of career in Jordan. It also states the influence of such demographical variables as: sex, residence, and the impact of regional factors upon the social status of career.

All these are carried out by answering the following questions:

1. What is the hierarchy of career social status in Jordan from the youth viewpoint? 2. Is there any statiscical significance at level of (\alpha=0.05) for the sex variable concerning the career social status?

3. Is there any statistical significance at level of (\alpha=0.05) for residence variable concerning the career social status?

4. Is there any statistical significance at level of (\alpha=0.05) for the region variable concerning the career social status?

This study utilzes measured standard deviations to answer the first question, wheras it utilizes (test) as well as (one way Anova) test to answer the other question.

Results have shown the high social status careers are characterized as having high income and power, whereas the low social status career are the reverse.

This study has revealed the existence of the statistical significance (\alpha=0.05) for the study variables that influence the social status of certain careers.
