Auther : Nabeela Shehab

The main aim of this study is to identify the effects of the Iraqi Invasion on the behavior of the martyr and P.O.W’s children and teenagers in particular, and other children and teenagers in general. The study covers also the effects of sex and place of residence variables during the invasion on the behavioral disorders being evaluated in this study. The sample consists of 212 children and teenagers aged from 6 years old to 14 years old. The sex variable did not reflect any differences for the period after liberation despite the presence of differences for males in the item; assaults his brothers/sisters or other children by beating in the period before the invasion. As for the place of residence variable it reflected many differences among the following three groups: the group that stayed in Kuwait during the whole period of invasion; the group that was inside Kuwait and left the country during the period of the invasion; and the group that was outside Kuwait during the whole period of the invasion. The study findings revealed many behavioral problems by most children and teenagers in the period after liberation compared with the period before the invasion, denoting the adverse effects of the war trauma.
