The Saudi-Yemeni Boundaries Developments and Final Solution

The Saudi-Yemeni boundary dispute has been of great political, economic and security importance, because of its various characteristics and dimensions, and has symbolizied an obstacle to normal relations between the two countries. This study aims to understand and analyze the bases of this dispute: its historical stages, relevant treaties; means to manage the dispute, and related studies. The study came up with some basic conclusions, including: observed boundary effects on adjacent areas; factors contributing to the boundary dispute; several techniques utilized by both parties in the dispute; and different stages of boundary creation. The study concluded that direct negotiation was the ideal means to reach a suitable  and permanent solution.
