Auther : Nouf Alsheikh

The fast pace of technical change in the world and availability of new communications technologies have been vastly used by youth. It has changed their values, added new needs and eliminated others. It is ironic that modern communications technology created more dangers to youth due to lack of family restrictions and control. This may have created social problems i.e. alienation. This research addresses the following question: Is there a relationship between using communication tools and the feeling of alienation among University students? Its objective is to identify the effects of extensive use of communication tools and alienation. In addition to family control over use of these tools and the feeling of alienation on college students. This is a descriptive study implemented on a sample of (375) students. Research concludes that students have mild alienation and the feeling of alienation is inversely proportional to family control and directly proportional to the use of these telecommunication tools.
