Advertisers' attitudes towards legislation and ethics of advertising industry in Egypt: a field study

This research seeks to reveal how much extent the advertising professionals in Egypt are aware of the legislation and ethics of the advertising industry and their attitudes toward violations in the advertisements, moreover their compliance with the laws and ethics of the advertising industry in terms of community responsibility. The sample consisted from 103 individuals in addition to a number of in-depth interviews with a sample of advertising industry experts.
The results show that most employees of advertising agencies have unconfirmed knowledge about the laws and ethics of the advertising industry in Egypt. Their knowledge is not accurate, so it can be said that the legal, professional and self-employment frameworks in the Egyptian advertising industry do not support social responsibility ideas. And that the discipline of a number of advertisements is an accidental matter can be attributed to the view of each person.
