Auther : Hesham Fathy Jadelrab Mousa Eid Al-Rashidi

The aim of this study was to investigate the factorial structure of the (NEO-FFI-S) in Kuwait and identify the main components of Kuwaiti college students. The sample of the study consisted of (992) Kuwaiti students who studied at Kuwait University during the academic year  2013-2014. 51.8% of the sample was female, and the age of the sample ranged between 17 and 23 (mean age = 19.89, SD = 1.47). The Personality inventory consisted of 60 self-report 5-point Likert scale items. Both EFA and CFA have been utilized in analyzing the data using the ML estimation method.
Results of EFA analysis have supported the existence of five distinct factors which can be clearly interpreted as the big five personality traits. CFA results show acceptable but not good fit between the data and the five factor model. Finally results showed that Kuwaiti students are higher than average in extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, conscientiousness, whereas they are less than average in neuroticism. No significant differences were found between male and female students in the big five personality factors.
