Auther : Abdelwahab Gouda Elhayes

This study explores the levels of quality of life in relation to the desert residents' active citizenship. The study reviewed the concepts of quality of life and citizenship, along with its aspects, levels, theoretical content, and real indicators.  The descriptive method was applied, using a comprehensive field survey, and targeting the whole population of the "Oil Concession" region in Oman. The study revealed the poor quality of life of the desert's residents, that is reflected by the poor quality of domiciles, the low level of satisfaction towards services, utilities, infrastructure, educational facilities, health care, electricity, water, sanitation, and its effects on community's civil and political participation, Hence the difficulty of access to active citizenship.
