Negative Perception to Parental Bonding and its Relation with both Anxiety and Depression

This study aims to explore the relationship between the negative perceptions of children for their parental treatments and depression and anxiety. Sample of the current study were 108 students from PAAET (Public Authority for basic education and training in Kuwait. Age of the sample range from 18 to 28 with a mean of (20.18). Several scales were adopted such as Depression, Anxiety, and Parental negative perception scales. Findings revealed partial support for the studys hypotheses. There were no gender differences between male and females on the mother Parental negative perception scale. Moreover. There was a significant difference on the fathers Parental negative perception scale. On the other hand, a significant correlation was reported between depression and anxiety scales and students Parental negative perception. Implications for intervention were discussed and directions for future studies were offered.
