Effect of Small Groups Learning Modules on

Auther : Zeiad Baraka

This study aimed at testing the effect of small groups learning modules on immediate and delayed achievement in mathematics among second grade female students. It also looked at the impact of these teaching methods on social skills behavior as well as on female students response to fear, shyness, feeling of inferiority and guilt. The sample consisted of (93) students who were split in two groups: the first comprising two experimental sections of 47 learners and who were taught one unit of the mathematics course according to the small group module; the other two sections of 46 learners were the controlling groups who were taught the traditional way. Upon completion of the experimental procedure which had aimed at comparing the performance of the two groups and the collection and analysis of data, the study came to realize a number of significant differences in immediate and delayed mathematics achievement in favor of the experimental group. The results further showed that differences in the teaching methods yielded no statistically significant differences in social skills behavior or response to fear or shyness. However, female students response to feelings of inferiority or guilt displayed statistically significant differences in relation to the teaching methods and in favor of the experimental groups mode.
