Utilization Of The Projective Technique In The study Of Social Situation As Intervening Variables Between Physical Disability and Adjustment

Auther : Fathi Abdul-Rahim

Information regarding the adjustment of crippled children in comparison to that of non-disabled children is in general, UN satisfactory. Numerous studies in the literature point up differences in the adjustment of the two groups of children. In most instances, however such studies can be offset by other which generally show the converse of the situation- that the adjustment of crippled and non-crippled children can be favorably compared. It is the investigator’s conviction that the objective tests used in most studies of the adjustment of crippled and non-crippled children are simply not sensitive enough to point up differences if they do exist. The objective tests do not depict the possible differences in dynamics inherent in the quantitative results, and these quite probably differ between the two groups. Since practical experience with crippled children and the theoretical position seemed to emphasize differences in the adjustment of certain crippled children further study is needed.
