Test Anxiety, Intelligence, Grade Level and Their Relationships With Academic Achievement for college Students of both Sexes

The main purpose of this study is to examine:

1. The relationship between test anxiety and academic achievement for College Students of both sexes.

2. The influence of sex, intelligence, and grade level upon test anxiety and Academic achievement. Sample of the Study has consisted of (400) male and female students at U.A.E. University of four educational levels during the academic year, 1988-1989.

The results of the study showed:

1. A significant main effect sex ( P<.01 ) and gradual level ( P<.05 ) for test anxiety scores.

2. A significant difference ( P<.05 ) between means of test anxiety scores for first grade and fourth grade.

3. Regression of GPA on test anxiety differed significantly ( P<.001 ) for both sexes. There was a curve-linear relationship for male, but a linear relationship for female students.

4. The influence of test anxiety of GPA did not significantly change after controlling intelligence and grade level in both groups.
