The development of an Objective Referenced Test for Measuring Teacher’s Skills in Classroom Test construction.

The purpose of this study is to develop and validate an objective – referenced test that measures teacher’s skills in constructing classroom tests.

The test is composed of four subtests that measure the following skills:

1) Skill in formulating behavioral objectives.

2) Skill in planning classroom test.

3) Skill in constructing and scoring test items for classroom teste.

4) Skill in marking, appraising and reporting classroom tests results.

The test has been developed in four major stages:

1) Specifying the test domain.

2) Developing test specifications.

3) Constructing item pools.

4) Content validation of that test using item-objective congruence method.

The test has been assembled in two equivalent forms. Each form is composed of 85 items that measure 75 objectives related to the four major skills. A scoring key, an answer sheet and a diagnostic card have been prepared to be used with each form.
