FUNDAMENTALISTS’ CONCEPT
OF CONCORD ‘AL MUWAFAQA’
By: Khalifa Babikir Al-Hassan
Faculty of Shari’a,
The University of the Emirates
This paper presents the fundamentalists’ concept of concord ‘Al-Muwafaqa’. Scholars have written extensively on this topic, yet the present paper is more comprehensive and elaborate as far as the concept of fundamentalists of concord is concerned.
The author of this paper compared between ‘Hanafi’ and Al-Mutakalimeen’ in particular. He has simplified the topic and made it more comprehensible, commented on it and explained and elaborated it. The author stated the misunderstandings of ‘Al Zahiry’ (headed by lbn Hazm) concerning their abstinence from using the concept of concord as a reference. The author’s discussion on the concept of concord is too extensive to the extent that one can do without many of the references on this topic.
