Al-Quran’s Answers to Deniers

Auther : Dr. Ahmad ibn Ahmad Shirshal

Al-Quran is an inexhaustible source of knowledge. It contains many valuable disciplines; among them is “ answering and refuting the allegations of deniers”. In this area, Al-Quran has dealt with all misconceptions, objections, accusations, suggestions, … raised by deniers and disbelievers. Many verses were revealed to denounce and refute them with various proofs and evidences so as to remove their effects on the believers and to teach Muslims how to answer them.

Al-Quran’s answers differ basically from the argumentations of disputatious theologians. Being a book of guidance and legislation, its discussions and answers are only a sort of clarification; its argumentations are not for the sake of arguing. We should not take them as so even if they had the formula of arguments. Allah, s Proofs and demonstrations are clearly obvious and easily understandable by addressees without much exhaustion of mind.

This issue is very important and is so closely related to Al-Quran which dedicated a sizable portion to it. Al-Quran’s answers to fabricated allegations of deniers are the most eloquent, truthful and the wisest. Their rational proofs are very convincing and silencing.

Allegations and suspicions which were raised since the time Al-Quran was revealed, and are still, and will continue to be raised to the end of this life, are similar and repetitious, because deniers and rejecters are similar in mood as stated by Al-Quran which recorded a great number of those misconceptions and convincingly refuted them.

In refuting deniers’ suspicions, which they raised against Allah, His angels or His Messenger containing various improper attributes, Al-Quran dwelt on them utilizing many facts in a realistic way characterized with comparison and citing real incidents from their own life. Their allegations and accusations against Prophet (pbuh) indicate that they were in clear confusion and contradiction as Al-Quran described them: “ So they are in a confused state.”(50:5)

In regard to falsifying their various attempts to reject and deny resurrection, Al-Quran used varieties of irrefutable proofs and evidences such as drawing their attention to some creatures greater than them, their own creation: its phases and wonders, the world of vegetation and fruits growing out of dead land and seeds, or addressing their minds with confirmed divine statements. If they insisted after all these attempts, Al-Quran turns to some sort of challenging them that resurrection will happen even if they would turn into the hardest material known in our world: stones or iron.
