Eloquence ofMetonymy in the Holy Quran The First Three Parts from the Holy Quran as a Model Dr. SAMI ATTA ABDULRAHMAN HASSAN Assistant Professor at Alalbayt University – Al-Mafraq - Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abstract: This study aims to spot the light on the Eloquence ofMetonymy in the Holy Quran, its miraculous accuracy. Quran contain accuracy and precession, which no one can imitate, not to mention proving superiority. The Holy Quran contains many metonymy within its verses. Metonymy resembled remorse and regret, i.e. biting hands, and flipping hands at multiple images , metonymy for anguish and the severity of the horrors of the Day of Judgment , arroganceand avoidance , metonymy for ugly matters to be mentioned, i.e. urination or defecation , metonymy for private matters, i.e. the sexual intercourse , in addition to other Quranic metonymy.
