Mission of Anecdotes in the miraculous Nature Of The Holy Qur'an. Astudy and critical review
Dr. Emad Taha Ahmed Al-Ra'oosh
Prof. Assistant in Holy Qur'an Division, Faculty of Usool
Eddin – University of Imam Mohamed Ibn Su'ood-KSA.
Al-Rummani is one of the scholars who mastered language skills and rhetoric's. He wrote about miracles of The Holy Qur'an though he did not write a whole independent book. What we have got is only a booklet expounding his theory of Holy Qur'an miracles through showing anecdotes about miracles. In this mission he showed some subtitles and hidden secrets which can be grasped by high talent. This mission of Al-Rummani is similar to the theory of miracles of The Holy Qur'an written secret of Mu'tazilah. He himself is one of the masters of Mu'tazilah. A lot of people imitated him in defining rhetoric's and its divisions as I am going to expound in what follows.
Al-Rummani mentioned seven ways of miracles in the Holy Qur'an. They are as follows: when reasons  and great need are available and in existence of challenge as well as rhetorical need and finally when true news are found about future conditions, in case of contradiction of habits and measuring them with each miracle.
Then he started showing the fourth way of rhetorics which took most place of his message. Then he returned to show the rest of remaining ways briefly. Yet the main theme he depended on was rhetorics. This is seen in his continuous effort  and discussions which is the core of the message. The praised part of Al-Rummani's message is his rhetorical miraculous part. He established origins of rhetorical miracles in a unique unpreceded way which makes a seed for authorship. He mentioned oppositions of Qur'an's miracles but he replied to them skilfully with evidences well explained and able to refute those oppositions. What Al-Rummani was blamed for was his dependence on only 3 ways for miracles which in fact were not ways of miracles in the views of the majority of scholars. Those ways were as follows: leaving opposition in spite of bad need, sufficient challenge and contradiction of habit. He mentioned measurement for each miracle. This is actually unfit for miracles. Thus only three ways of miracles remain available. They are : (1) Rhetoric, true news of foretelling future and generation of words which cannot be taken as miracle. There remain only two ways of what was determined.
