An Evaluative study of the workshop on the developed Unified Mathematics Curriculum for third Elementary Class in Kuwait

Training is essentially an education process, centered around the teaches. The objectives of training are to improve the teachers abilities and capabilities. So that problems are uncovered and practiced solutions to there problems can be implementd in the interest of eduction.

In the scope of Kuwait Ministry of Educations in-service programme for the training of teachers and superintendents in the developed - unified mathematics curriculum for third elementary class, a workshop was held with the objectives of identiffing mjor skills of the curriculum, gaining the copubility to measure these skills, and gain the capability to teach the new curriculum.

The research attempted to elicit workshop - participants views (those of teachers and superintendent fran varous educational areas) by way of a randon sample (n = 20) from each area so as to define the theoretical and practical benefits of the workshop. From these views, data on the effectiveness of training in the enhancement of trainee performance, the obstacles encountered during the workshop, and the issueof recommendtions to enhance the area of training in relation to mathematics, may be derived.

The studus hypotheses were as follows:

1. Position (post, job) has no bearing on the degree of study samples acceptance of workshop subjects.

2. Academic qualification has no bearing on the degree of study samples acceptance of workshop subjects.

3. Category (i.e. beginner, advanced) of trainee has no bearing of the degree of study samples acceptance worksho subjects.

4. Trainees experience has no bearing on the degree of study samples acceptance of worshop subjects.

The research also hypothese that the observed differences are statistically valid at the coefficient = (0.05) level.
