The Japanese Approach in Teaching Science: An experimental Study in the Primary school in Egypt

This study aims at exploring the process of Science teaching in Japan by reviewing primary stage Science curriculas goals and contents: activities and scientific experiments, techniques used for developing pupils creativity as well as teachers contribution to this development and pupils attitudes.

Using the Japanese model, a Teacher Guide for Science teachers in Egypt has been developed and applied. This involved eight major steps. Results are positive.

Recommendations include:

Teachers, training to use the guide should be implemented on a large scale.

The amount of the content presented to the pupils in the classes should be reduced to enable them to absorb it successfully.
