Evaluation system of in-service teachers in Kuwait. Evaluative study

    The study has been conducted to investigate the opinion of teachers, supervisors, and administrator in Kuwait public schools concerning the new teacher evaluation system.

    The purpose of the study is to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the new teacher evaluation system a question naire particularly designed for this purpose.

    The questionnaire has been applied to sample of (322) teachers (133) administers and (68) supervisor from all educational level (elementary, intermeddle, and internal consistency).

    The results revealed the following:

    1. There is an agreement among the population sample that the most important aim of the new teacher evaluation system is to achive the curriculum goals and objectives.
    2. There is an agreement among the population sample about the major competencies should be tested in the system and the most important ones are:

    1. Class room management.
    2. Teachers must work comparatively with the school administration.

    1. There are significant differences in the opinion of the population sample about the advantages and disadvantages of the new teacher evaluation system and the most important the concern of the large authority of supervisors and principles to evaluate teachers.
    2. There are significant differences in the opinion of the population sample about the process to conduct the final recommendations have been suggested dealing with the improvement of the new teacher evaluation system in the Kuwait schools.
