Auther : Khalil Ebrahim Shubbar

This study is related to the four modes of cognitive preferences, which are recall (R), principles (P). questioning (Q) and application (A).

Cognitive preferences of 297 Bahraini third-year secondary school students were studied. A Chemistry Cognitive Preferences Test (CCPT) was administered, in which 30 items required ranking on a four-point scale. The items were also categorizes under different chemical topics. Statistical analyses revealed that the students had a very high preference for recall (R),and low preferences for questioning (Q), principles (P) and applications (A).

There were no significant relationships between cognitive preferences, ability and gender
