This study was designed to assess the perception of teachers and administrators in Kuwait elementary schools about their knowledge and attitudes towards nutrition education, and their opinion about teaching this subject in the elementary schools.

For this purpose, a questionnaire was designed. It consisted of a Nutrition Knowledge Test (NKT) and a Nutrition Attitude Test (NAT), and it was randomly distributed to a sample of 500 elementary personnel in 15 elementary schools: Educational area, educational level and educational experience were implicated as independent factors influencing nutritional knowledge and attitudes.

Findings indicate:

a. A high percentage of the sample showed lack of knowledge & attitude towards Nutrition Education.

b. There is a significant positive relationship between the perception of school teachers and administrators towards nutrition knowledge and attitudes.

c. The results of the study showed that, there was a great approval among the sample to integrate the subject of nutrition education with other subjects taught in the elementary school.

The study concluded with several recommendations for researchers and elementary schools program planners, as well as some related studies were suggested to be conducted in the future.
