Attitudes of physically hanicapped Students Toward their Learning, Teacher and Impairments and their Implications for their School Achievement

Auther : Ali A. Al-Afnan

This study aimed at recognising the attitudes of physically handicapped students towards their own learning, teachers and impairments. To achieve this aim, a sample of 88 intermediate and secondary school students in Riyadh Public Schools was selected.
An attitude battery test was designed by the researcher to test the hypotheses of the study. The study put forward three hypotheses to test their validity. The results of the study showed:
- A statistically significant positive correlation (,.05) between the overall score of the study samples on the physically handicapped Attitudes test battery and their School Achievement.
- Statistically significant differences between the attitudes of intermediate and secondary school students towards impairment were observed for the sake of the first group.
- However there were no significant differences between the two groups (intermediate and secondary students) in terms of their attitudes towards their learning and their teachers.
- A clear statistically significant effect was found for every type of physical impairment on the students, attitudes towards learning, the teacher and the impairment. This was clear from the results of the least significant difference (LSD) test between the means.
