Effect of Personal and Academic Characteristics of Presevrice Teachers on their Attitude and Anxiety towards Computer Use in Instruction

       The current study aimed at measuring the change that occurs on preservice teachers attitude and anxiety towards the importance of computer use in instruction. The study also aimed at measuring the relationship between attitude and anxiety towards the importance of computer use in instruction. To achieve these goals, the study adopted a quasi-experimental design for a group of students who were enrolled in computer in education course offered by the College of Education at Kuwait University. The study also attempted to examine the effects of some factors such as age, gender, major, GPA, and study year on students attitude and anxiety towards the importance of computer use in instruction. The sample of the study consisted of (192) students divided into (55) males and (137) females. In order to examine the research hypotheses, attitudes and anxiety instruments were developed to assess subjects levels of computer attitude and anxiety. The results show a decrease in both students attitude and anxiety level after receiving a computer in education course. The results also show that there is a positive statistical relationship between attitude and anxiety among research sample. In the light of these results, the researcher proposes some recommendations and suggestions.
