Classroom Environment As Seen by Kuwait University College of Education Students

Auther : Jasem M. Al-Hamdan & Adel A. Al-Sharaf

This field study aims to explore views by students of the College of Education at Kuwait University regarding the classroom environment in their college. It also seeks to identify the relations between gender, cumulative grade levels and students majors with their views. It then extends proposals to promote positive factors and eliminate negative ones affecting classroom environment.

Based on the studys human and matrial scopes; namely ``students role and ``role of building and maintaining classrooms, results recommend for the first scope the formation of groups inside classrooms, assigning separate classrooms for boys and girls and promoting communication channels between professors and students. Recommendations also propose for the second scope the need to step up the capacity of air-conditioning systems, especially throughout the summer session, provide air aspirators, soundproof windows and doors, set up signal-barring systems for cell phones and replace existing students seats with more comfortable and customized ones to accommodate overweight students.
