Nursing Students Attitudes toward Studying Nursing in Qatar

The purpose of the study is to explore nursing students attitudes toward studying nursing, as well as to investigate the impact of nationality, high school branch, father education and mother education on nursing students attitudes toward nursing major.

The sample of the study consists of (120) first level female students in Nursing School, State of Qatar. Subjects filled out a questionnaire of (25) items concerning their attitudes toward studying nursing.

Results show that students attitudes toward studying nursing are positive. Results, also, show that nationality, high school branch, father education and mother education have no impact on overall attitudes and sub-attitudes toward studying nursing, except two sub-attitudes scales by nationality. Those two sub-scales are attitude toward the content of the major and the imporance of the major, in favor of the non-Qatari students.
