Auther : Mansour A. Ghawanni

The purpose of the is to investigate the student’s attitudes towards teaching based on theoretical course and teaching practice.

The researcher used the descriptive analysis to study the students towards teaching based on theoretical courses and teaching practice. A difference between male and female students on their attitudes towards teaching has been detected.

The researcher developed a questionnaire for that purpose. A sample of 504 student’s were randomly selected, 252 male and 252 female students were chosen from three levels. (First, fourth and graduate level).

Two-way ANOVA, and (T) test were used for the analysis.

Results of the study show that the theoretical courses have a strong positive influence on the student’s attitudes towards teaching. On the other hand, the teaching practice doesn’t have the desired influence on the student’s attitudes towards teaching.

Results also show that the females have a better attitude towards teaching on their first admission in the College of Education. Such difference is leveled after taking the theoretical courses and teaching practice. The males have a better attitude towards teaching than the females after the theoretical courses.

Based on the study results the researcher has written some recommendations, which could improve the situation in the Saudi society in terms of their attitude towards teaching.
