The role of the private schools in education: comparative study with public school in Taif, Saudi Arabia

The study was conducted in two private schools (the only two private schools that met the requirements and application of this study), and two other public schools. The study intended to answer four questions and test one hypothesis regarding the achievement of the students in the two types of schools. For that purpose, the researchers designed two types of questionnaires and an objective test. (appendix 1,2).

The study intended to compare the educational programs in the two types of schools to discover their effectiveness and test what has been known among the public that private schools have better education than public school.

The finding of the study showed higher achievement level among the students of the private school in all subject areas, except mathematics and geometry where the achievement level of the students in both types was equal.

The study also showed deficiency in the needed facilities in the two types of schools.

Finally, it was clear from the study that the teachers at the private schools and higher qualifications than those at the public schools.
