Sports and Cultural Projects in The Gulf States and the Soft Power

Objectives: This study aims at analyzing Gulf states' ability to employ large sports and cultural projects in order to enhance their internal stability, establish their international position, and reduce adverse consequences.
Method: This study relied on the functional approach in addition to analysis and description capabilities to monitor the challenges facing adopting strategic trends and public policies in the GCC countries, which is the study sample, in order to use the soft power and its multi uses from the international relations perspective.
Results: Employment of the soft power in the Gulf context basically revolves around the main axes of  showing the superiority and the regional competitiveness of these countries while enhancing their national identity in the face of the major powers in the region, seeking to promote their good image as a land of peace, security and prosperity, tuning and monitoring the middle class and polarizing new western elites, besides redistribution of oil revenues and diversifying the economic activities.
Conclusion: The stakes on these demonstrations seem to be high today. The economic, social, and political stability of these countries is at stake, as well as their ability to remain major actors in the international system.
