Democratic Practices of Secondary School Teachers in the State of Kuwait according to Twelfth Grade Students.

Objectives: This study aimed to identify the degree of democratic practices of the teachers in the view point of their students, and the effect of the variables: (gender, study branch, school type, school district, academic average) on the study sample responses.
Method: Descriptive method was used based on a questionnaire consisted of (26) items divided into three fields. The study sample consisted of (782) twelfth grader students belong to public and private schools in the state of Kuwait for the academic year 2015/2016.
Results: The study found that the degree of the democratic practices of the teachers was high overall, and so it was in the areas of justice and equity according to the study sample. The degree of the same practices came medium in the areas of freedom of expression and teaching methods. Results also showed statistically significant differences in the degree of the democratic practices of secondary school teachers in relation to the study branch in favor of literary, school type in favor of the foreign ones, and school district in favor of Hawally. However, there were no statistically significant differences attributed to the variables: gender or general academic average.
Conclusion: Several recommendations were made; most prominently: the importance of raising democratic awareness of the teachers and the emphasis on democratic practices in the school environment.
