Political Contents in the Arabic Textbooks in Post-basic Education Stage in Sultanate of Oman.

Objectives: It is to analyze the b explicit and implicit political contents as well as to identify how they are distributed in the Arabic language textbooks in the post-basic education stage in Sultanate of Oman.
Method: A content analyzing form was prepared in order to be applied to the sample which consists of poem and narrative literary of the Al-Muanes textbook, 1st and 2nd parts, assigned for 11th and 12th grades.
Results: Study indicated that the frequencies of the political contents in the textbooks numbered (149) at level of visible and hidden vocable in (22) topics in Al-Muanes textbook in the 11th grade and (32) topics in the 12th. The "peace" as political content ranked first with (20) times frequency in the textbook of 11th grade followed by the ``freedom'' with (12) frequencies in the same textbook.
Conclusion: The Arabic teachers should give attention to the political and other values incorporated in the texts in order to make the students learn about their meanings and to contribute to the achievement of schools' general aim, which is preparing conscious citizens with politically awareness.
