Citizenship and Loyalty Values: A Study on a Sample of Kuwaiti Youth.

     Citizenship and loyalty took a great deal of attention in many studies. The present study focuses on the concepts of citizenship and loyalty in a selected young Kuwaiti sample. The study examines the relationship between these two concepts with some sociocultural variables within Kuwaiti society. 621 respondents aged between 17-25 years (389 males, 232 females) were selected (M=30.94, SD: 2.05). Questionnaire was the major tool analytical of this study. Some basic and demographic information were collected. Correlation coefficient, t-test, chi-square, and multiple regression were used in the analysis. It was found that there is a positive statistical relationship between loyalty values with all citizenship dimensions values in the studied sample. Significant relationships were found between loyalty values and education and economic levels. No significant differences were found between male and female or Muslim Sunni and Muslim Shiite in citizenship and loyalty values. Also, Significant differences were found between young and older youth in citizenship's values and its social, political, religious and aesthetic dimensions. Education level is one of the most important variables that relate and predict citizenship and loyalty values.
