Primary School Science Teachers' Views on Applying the Science-based Approach to Competencies: A Case Study.

     The present study deals with the application of the science-based approach competencies in Kuwaiti primary schools. The objective is to examine science teachers science teachers' on the application of this method. The sample consisted of (200) primary school science teachers from different educational districts in the State of Kuwait. The study tool was questionnaire consisting of three main axes: scientific subject, activities and teaching aids, and evaluation. The findings are as follows:
- Scientific subject came third with an average of (2.47) and a standard deviation of (0.21).
- Educational activities and teaching aids came first with an average of (2.65) and a standard deviation of (0.22).
- Evaluation came second with an average of (2.55) and a standard deviation of (0.21).
     The study also found that there was a statistically significant difference for the experience variable at a level less than (0.05). By contrast, there were no statistically significant differences for the grade and the educational district variables. In the light of these results, a number of recommendations and suggestions were made.
