Auther : Dr. Ahmed N. Elbaz

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of data collection techniques for determining secondary school teachers' training needs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the teachers' perceptions of possible obstacles. A questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 214 teachers. Both the importance and effectiveness of data collection techniques were rated highly by the teachers. Also, there was a general agreement among the informants on the issue of obstacles. However, there were no significant differences in the teachers' responses in terms gender, qualifications, and job description. Finally, the study concludes with a number of suggestions and recommendations that may improve data collection techniques.
