Effectiveness of Implementing a Lesson-Planning Experience that Integrates Web 2.0 Tools in Teacher Education.

     The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of implementing a lesson-planning experience that integrates Web 2.0 tools in teacher preparation in regards to student teacher feeling of comfort and confidence in developing such lesson plans. Moreover, the study seeks to examine the effect of the learning environment related to developing those lesson plans in raising the level of self-efficacy of student teachers in using Web 2.0 tools. The study also aims to investigate the effect of two factors namely, the comfort with technology and the confidence in developing such lesson plans in predicting the effectiveness of the ASSURE instructional design model used in the study. A questionnaire was administered on a sample consisted of 66 female student teacher enrolled in a technology-oriented course. The results revealed that the learning environment had an evident effect in raising the level of student teachers' self-efficacy in Web 2.0 tools, their feelings of comfort and confidence in planning lessons that integrate technology. In addition, the results showed that student teachers were satisfied with the effectiveness of the instructional design model used for planning lessons. The study concluded with some recommendations related to integrating technology in lesson planning for teacher education.
