The Increase of Vehicle Ownership and its Effect on the Urban Environment in Kuwait: A Geographic Study .

     This paper examined the Phenomenon of increased car ownership and its impact on the urban environment in Kuwait, which is considered one of the highest global car ownership at both the Arab and global reaching 507 car / 1,000 population. The Accumulation of more than 1.55 million cars is beyond the absorptive capacity of local roods leading to high maintenance cost. While the number of Kuwait's population is only three million according to the last census (2011) living on only 8% of the area of the State of Kuwait.
     There are complicated and intertwined relationship between population users of cars and roads, resulting in many negative effects, analysis focused on four main elements, namely: car ownership in Kuwait and the Arab Gulf states, cars and residents in Kuwait, and traffic congestion, and the effects of cars on the environment in Kuwait.
