The Effect of Using Mind Mapping as a Teaching Method Compared with the Traditional Method on Academic Achievement among a Sample of Qassim University Students in KSA .

     This study aims at investigating the effect of using mind mapping as a teaching method compared with traditional method among university students. The sample consisted of (65) male students from Arabic language and social studies faculty and education faculty. The sample was divided into two groups: experimental group consisted of (36) male students who studied according to mind mapping, and controlled group consisted of (29) male students who studied according to the traditional method. Means and standard deviation were calculated also (t- test) was used. The findings of the study revealed that teaching with mind mapping had a significant effect on student's performance on the academic achievement test. Also revealed that teaching with traditional method had a significant effect on student's performance on the academic achievement test. The results also showed that there was a significant differences in student's performance on the academic achievement test due to the group, for the experimental group benefit. The results were discussed in light of previous studies, and some recommendations were suggested.
