An Evaluation of the Efficiency of the Functional Roles Practice by the Departments and Faculties of Physical Education at GCC Countries and Their Willingness to Meet the Challenges .

     The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency of the functional roles practice by the departments and faculties of physical education at GCC countries and their willingness to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century; and to determine its relationship to department/ faculty variable.

     Data were collected using two questionnaires. The first questionnaire comprised of (37) items that were distributed on (3) major domains to measure the degree of the functional roles practice by the departments and faculties of physical education. The second questionnaire comprised of (16) items to determine the willingness of the departments and faculties of physical education to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century.

     The sample of the study consisted of (75) faculty members. Data obtained were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, T-test, and One-Way ANOVA. The study indicated the following findings:

     The degree of the functional roles practice by the departments and faculties of physical education at GCC countries was average in the all functional roles domains.

     The degree of the willingness of departments and faculties of physical education at GCC countries to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century was average.

     There were no significant differences in the degree of the functional roles practice by the departments and faculties of physical education at GCC countries and their willingness to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century due to the department/ faculty variable.

     In the light of the findings, the study presented some recommendations to improve the degree of the functional roles practice by the departments and faculties of physical education at GCC countries.
