Kuwait and the Collapse of Arabistan 1915 – 1925 .
Auther : Dr. Abdullah M. AL-Hajiry
The importance of Arabistan and the ruler "Sheikh Khaz'al" is that the emirate has seen in his era, events which are considered very significant. Arabistan was the first Arab emirate, which contained oil in its territory in 1908. Arabistan also witnessed the dissolution of the Qajarie rule in Persia and the establishment of the Pahlawi rule, which overthrew Sheikh Khaz'al and his emirate in 1925.
We have tried through this study to reveal Kuwait's attitude toward the fall of Arabistan. Also we reviewed the relationship between Kuwait and Arabistan during the period (1915-1925 AD), and its trajectory and impact on the two emirates.
The study also seeks to determine the nature of the rleationship between Sheikh Khaz'al and the rulers of Kuwait after the death of Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, especially the period of Sheikh Ahamd Al-Jabir, who hesitated to take some political decisions following the Persians takeover of Arabistan and the arrest of the Amir "Sheikh Khaz'al" who had been taken away to Tehran, where he remained there until his death in 1936.
The study also examined the reasons that forced Britain to abandon Sheikh Khaz'al, Despites Britain pledge to maintain Arabistan independence from the Persian side and announce that Arabistan's Shaikh's are independent rulers under British protection.
