Spatial Variation Analysis of Saudi Health Services for the Period 1431 - 1431b.
Auther : Dr. AbdulKarim Ben K. Al-Howaish
This paper aimed to study the components of Saudi health system in order to identify the size and the magnitude of health components among thirteen Saudi regions, and the extent of spatial variation of health services between these regions during the period of 1992 (1413h) and 2010 (1431h). The analysis revealed that, despite the fact that most Saudi regions witnessed a huge increase in their health components during the last eighteen years, still, there is an urgnet need for the Saudi government to reduce the spatial variation between regions. It was found that, the rate of levels in health disparities between Saudi regions over the period of analysis, is increasing by 15% annually. More over, government actions are needed to accelerate the convergence level of health components between Saudi regions. The study also revealed that over the period of analysis, least developed regions outweighed developed regions in terms of health components' growth and change. This trend, however, need to be strenghening and sustained.
