Challenges of the Main Features of the Population of Kuwait : Changes and Aspirations

     The dempgraphic situation in Kuwait during the past decade produced important characteristics and poses many challenges that needs to be faced. The objectives of this study are to examine the development of population composition between 1995 and 2010, to analyze adopted government population policy through development plans and programs, and finally attempts to provide a road-map for a population policy in Kuwait that address these challenges and mitigate their risks.
     The study concludes that Kuwait suffers from high persistent population growth rate. Kuwaitis are still minority in their homeland and the popualtion composition remains critical concern for policy makers. International migration plays pivotal role in shaping the population composition and in producing a highly divided population. The adpoted policy reveal an understanding of the real situation of the population, however, it did not produce positive results as anticipated.
