Between Tarut Island: Followed by Civilized and Historical Study

     The island of Tarot is located to the east of the city of Qatif (Saudi Arabia) within the wide creek of the sea, and is considened the largest island on the west coast of the Gulf after Bahrain Island. Many historians believe that the Phoenicians originated from the area and that the name Tarot was derived from the name Astaarot the Phoenician goodess of love and beauty.
     The entire island is considered as an important archeological sites in the Kingdom as it is also considered as an important location of stable civilization and settlement as stated in the report of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums on the work of exporation carried out on the island. Academic studies have shown continued stability since the very beginning. Many Phoenician Sasanian and Islamic buriy was displayed in the national Museum in Riyadh and Dammam regional Museum.
