The Electoral Symposium and their Impact on the Intellectual Bahavior of Voters: Kuwait Case Study

     The aim of this study is to detect the impact of the important variables associated with the nature of electoral symposium on the behavior of voters. The study seeks to reveal the significance of electoral symposium, in general, and the importance of attending the symposium by the survey respondents, taking into account the essential variables such as sex, and the social background. In addition, the study aims to identify the nature of the symposiums that the voters are keen to attend. The types of symposiums considered in this study are the enthusiastic, racial, fund raising, balanced, or pro-government. The study also aims to discover the nature of feelings and behaviors generated by these electoral symposiums and its impact on the members of the sample. The size of the selected sample for this survey is 500 respondents (404 males and 96 females) of different age groups (between 19-69 years old). A specific questionnaire was designed for this survey containing social and dempographic variables and a set of standards defining some of the trends of electoral symposium. The results of the study verified the significance of electoral symposium in general. The importance of attendace and follow-up of such symposiums has varied significantly within the sample. The factors behing such uneven response in regard to the feelings and behaviors generated by these symposiums has to do with age, gender and social background. The results have also revealed that the behavior and aggressive feelings were associated with the nature of symposium, specifically the enthusiastic ones.
