The importance of culture and heritage tourism has increasingly been recognized worldwide. It has developed to become a significant phenomenon in the travel and tourism industry. The ancient walled city of Bahla and its fort is one of Oman’s greatest historical treasures. This paper aims to develop a frame work for strategic policy and a well designed plan for sustainable management of Bahla fort and its oasis.  The ultimate aim is to promote Bahla as an important destination for tourists and history enthusiasts and to enhance the protection of heritage resources for future generations.
