Spatial Variation of Flood Sediment Surface and its Relationship to Distribution of Plant Communities in Qa Al-Khur of Tugah Area in Harrat al-Harrah Preserve in Saudi Arabia

Auther : Dr. Abdullah Bin A. Al-Saleh

The aim of this study is to delineate the spatial dimension of the deposits alluvial and its relationship to the distribution of plant communities of Qa Al-Khur of Tugah area in Harrat Al-Harrah preserve and to identify the plant the study area. The Transect Method is employed to determine the environments under study based on field work as well as laboratory and statistical analysis. Thirty-two soil samples were collected from different depths. The features of the deposits alluvial investigated in this study include: texture, moisture content, conductivity, PH, sodium, potassium, calcium, organic matter, magnesium, and nitrogen. The analysis showed significant spatial variation among the foregoing features in the samples from all sites. For example, plant communities are distributed according to the properties of sediment surface. Further research on vegetation is recommended in the areas of farming and pasture.
