Auther : Dr. Abdulwahab G. Abdulwahab

This research project aims to uncover the factors leading to the growing phenomenon of turnover among private sector Omani workers. It investigates this phenomenon by analyzing job stability in private companies and enterprises in light of the Omanisation policy and the correlation among the following elements: training level, work experience, workers’ job stability, degree of organizational commitment, characteristics of organizational work structure, career guidance for workers, and the level of facilities and services in work organizations and relationship to job stability in private sector organizations. The approach adopted in data collection is analytical and descriptive, and the purpose of the analysis is to identify the correlations between the variables and the turnover phenomenon. The research has identified a number of factors (personal, structural, organizational and cultural) which explain the continuity and increase in the phenomenon of turnover in the Omani private sector. The study concludes with a number of practical recommendations which may contribute to a reduction in the occurrence of turnover among private sector workers and the success of current Omanisation policies.
