The Role of Faculty in Developing students Academic Performance at Kuwait University

The purpose of this study is to explore students perceptions of the roles of teaching faculty in developing the academic performance of students through the academic advice they offer to students at Kuwait University. A field study has been conducted to achieve the study objectives through a questionnaire consisting of 21 items related to faculty members roles in students academic advising. The questionnaire has been conducted on a sample of 434 students.
The study results indicate that students consider that their faculty members may develop their academic performance by encouraging them to seek academic consultations, guiding them to do the course activities and homework, providing them with feedback, and advising them to avoid failing in the course. However, it has been found that the faculty are reluctant to guide and advise students with respect ot their college, field of study, and future careers.
