KUWAITI ATTITUDES TOWARDS THE SECOND MARRIAGEOF WOMEN

This study has devoted its interest to reveal the Kuwaiti citizens attitudes toward the woman’s marriage after divorce or widowhood.  The study has been applied on a random sample of (200) persons, chosen from the citizens, whose ages are (21) years and more.  The study depended on a standardized questionnaire in collecting data.  Analyzing the data has been accomplished by computer.

Results can be given in brief, as follows:

1)  Regarding the correct knowledge about marriage of the divorcees, the ration was between 55.3% and 93%.  But concerning the widows, the ratio was between 57% and 92.4%.

2)  Regarding preparation of conductive adaptation towards upholding the marriage after divorce, the ratio of the positive answers was between 63.5% and 83.2%.  But with respect to upholding marriage after widowhood, the ratio was between 57.8% and 74.6%.

3)  Positive assessment is the characteristic trait of the answers of respondents towards the woman’s after divorce or widowhood.  In other words, the majority of the respondents view that the benefits of this marriage exceeds its harms.

At the level of the whole attitude, the total of the cognitive and empathy and behavioral formations of behavior increased towards the woman’s marriage after divorce is more than towards its marriage after widowhood.  This increase has its statistical significance.
