THE PRINCIPALS AND DEPUTIES’ LEADERSHIPSTYLES OF THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS AT THEEASTERN PROVINCE–KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

Auther : By: Dr. Abdulsamad Al-Aghbary

The purpose of this study is to investigate the kinds of leadership styles that exist among the principals and deputies and the impact of some variables, such as: experience, level of education and age on their leadership techniques.

The Leader Effectiveness and Adaptability Description developed by Hersey and Blanchard was administrated to sample of 88 principals and deputies of public schools in the teachers’ educational training program that was conducted at the teachers’ college of Al-Ahssa.

Analysis of the data revealed that though the leadership techniques of both principals and deputies seem to be similar, it was found that participation and delegation leadership techniques are commonly applied among those educational leaders.

The conclusion was supported by the body of research, especially among developed countries.
